It was Xiu Li's birthday on Friday! We met her on Saturday for dinner! Swensens gave her a 'on-the-house' Firehouse! Happy Birthday my girl, I'm so happy for her on her way to ladyhood (though she's one already), hope she enjoys every single year of this lifetime!! We bought her a cake, Coco Exotica, from Four Leaves, but unfortunately the Swensens' manager mentioned that the restaurant has a policy of not serving any outside food, including birthday cakes, with the exception of their own in-house cakes.
Nevertheless, it was great to see my girl!! Hope she likes what I got for her!

Specially done for Xiu! Thanks for the 3 years of loyal and heart-warming friendship, you're the best!! Edwin (Xiu's boyfriend) was so funny, he messaged me that Xiu cried after reading my letter and asked what did I write, how did I managed to make her cry, and he's still unsuccessful after writing several letters to her! Well my reply was simple: girls with girls tend to be more emotional. Moreover, Xiu Li and I shares a very special relationship which no one else will understand, naturally she can understand the emotions I have for her beneath the ink on the paper. (=
Bought tickets for 'The Holiday' at the Cathay, then headed to Coffee Club at Prinsep for dessert.
Pris Bern and Kenny talked me into watching the 11.10pm movie and offered to paid for my ticket. My excuses of being broke and having to take a cab back after the movie was plain stupid, especially since I was usually the one persuading the gang to stay out later to chill.
The truth was, I was reluctant, because movies held a sad memory for me.
Queuing at the box office, waiting at the snack stall, the movie advertisement light-box posters, sitting down in the cinema, feeling the cold air-conditioning, proved to be too much for me. There was a time I waited an hour for him to turn up at the Cathay, stuck around the snack stall for 45 minutes, sat down on the couches furiously dialling his number, called Bern up crying out of immense worry, saw him walk towards me, we entering the cinema together, he brought his jacket for me to wear for every movie date, we enjoying the movie together. This train of thought was more than I can take, even if I was merely catching a movie with my good friends. Now you know why I was always deep in thought, despite all the smiles and laughter. Worse, I was sitting right beside a lovey-dovey couple.
Had chocolate fondue and mud pie at Coffee Club. So delicious! I must admit chocolates made me a little happier.

As usual, I made everyone do a funny face for the camera.
And look at our newly-got-together-couple, Pris and Kenny. How lovely this couple can get!

I have my narcisstic moments too.

Peanuts and Pops.
