Peeps!! I am finally back. My blog has collected some dust and you know I won't let it be an antique for long. The picture above explains my absence from forlorncrimson. Yes, I had sore eyes, and to be more specific, it was worse than that.
It was cornea infection. From my damned contact lens. But actually I think I am the damned one because I have been very negligent in handling my lenses.
For those who have heard my cringing story at the hospital, you can skip this part. For the benefit of those who are in shock, please read on!
I reached CGH A&E on Sunday, 25th Feb, 12.15am, waited three-and-a-half hours for my turn to see the medical office and waited another 30 mins to see the eye specialist (and hell begun). Throughout this time, I threw countless tantrums in front of Daddy, fiercely tugging his sleeves, stomping furiously on the floor, hitting his arm occasionally, screaming about my tremendous pain and the never-ending waiting time.
Poor Daddy. He must really love me a lot to not lose his cool and yet wait patiently for me.
The specialist scanned my eyes using the microscope. It hurt hell a lot because I couldn't even open my eyes, much less bear the blinding light scanning left to right right to left in my eyes. Dr. Seah used his finger to pry both of my eyes open so that he could look through the microscope properly. It was painful I kept fidgeting and jerking back my eyes from his fingers.
As if that wasn't bad enough, he started inserting a L-shaped needle into a syringe like object on the desk. I had a feeling he was going to poke that needle in my eye.
Athena: Are you going to insert that needle in my eye?
Dr. Seah: Yes, I need to extract some tissues for examination.
Athena: What? Tissues? You mean, just like that, from my eye?
Dr. Seah: Yes, it's not going to hurt much.
Athena: Not going to hurt?? How can it be??
Dr. Seah: I applied anesthetic to your eyes, which is why your eyes feel so much more comfortable now. Trust me, it won't hurt much.
If you're a good looking hunk I would really trust you!
It really didn't hurt much, but I could feel the needle scrapping my eyeballs (don't talk to me about seeing the damned thing on my eyeballs). That's the shit thing about eye examinations and eye surgery. The patient has to be awake, alert and may I say, wide-eyed for the operation. After the anesthetic wore off, the pain set in and I could feel the areas of my eye Dr. Seah had scrapped.
After I got out of the eye room, I hugged Daddy and cried like mad. Cos it hurt so bad, and the procedure was also nerve-wrecking. My palms were red from my fingernails piercing into my hands to keep me from crying during the eye examination.
The first night I was warded I couldn't sleep well. Primarily because my medication was eyedrops to be put half hourly in my eyes. May I remind you, the medication is round the clock. So I didn't sleep at all. I kept crying to myself because I was really afraid of being all alone in the hospital ward. And when the eyedrops were applied I felt like a huge industrial vaccumm cleaner was sucking my eyeballs out.
And another shit thing. I was telling my friends, if I had broken an arm or leg, had stomach trouble etc., I could still cry freely without worries. But the fact I was having an eye infection, I could not, should not, and MUST NOT cry or it'd aggravate the condition of my eye.
MURDER ME PLEASE.
The next day things got better because my bona5ides came to visit and play with me! Derrick was the first to reach and he bought me a cute orange stuffed flower! It's a really cool get-well gift. Now it's at my bedside. Then Papa Mama Jie came and Jie was utterly disgusted with my experience the night before! Haha!
Roy called to say he would take another hour to reach and I was pretty angry because I waited for 2 hours already! The next moment he appeared in front of me! So happy to see dear Roy and he brought my fave bubble tea!
My bona5ides came and I was so touched I wanted to cry when they arrived but I didn't because I was afraid they would worry about me. But my dear Xiu Li came and looked like she had tears in her eyes already! Don't worry girl you said i'm a tough one can overcome anything right! She brought Edwin along and I was really touched la!
Pris came with apple chips and green tea. Per came with toberlone chocolates (most of which landed up in pris' stomach of course). It became like a mini party.
Per brough her mini boggle.

I told Zech in these two pictures it seemed like Pris and him were sniffing Per's legs.

I asked my girls to buy a Disney Princess balloon but they couldn't find it so Pris took a rubber glove and blew it up. SO UNHYGIENIC I DON'T WANT. Zech fiddled with the fingers of the gloves and used his hand to imitate the glove's fingers.

In the evening Shar came!! She brought a lovely sunflower for me, so sweet! Was really delighted to see her, except our initial appointment was supper instead of the hospital lolx!
Every morning I had to wait at least an hour for the doctors' checkup. And I was really bored sitting like an old crippled lady in the rusty wheelchair. The 3rd morning I couldn't take the boredom so I brought my business law textbook to read. It's not that bad la, because I also sneaked back home to take my financial accounting textbook to do my homework. LOL.

Got discharged on Tuesday, went back home to unpack, then went for business law lesson in the afternoon. Doctor gave me a 10 day MC!
BUT SO WHAT IN UNIVERSITY ALSO CANNOT USE! NA-MA. Hate it. You can afford to be absent from seminars at your own risk but you ain't got much excuse to skip project meetings right?
But I'm alright now peeps!! Recovering, actually. Doctor says I can't wear contacts already lest a worser infection hits. And I cried over this as well. Tee hee.

Went Jie's house last Thursday! We wanted to make delicious cornbread muffins but Jie forgot that we needed milk! So Jie let me make pancakes!
It was my first attempt at making pancakes all by myself! Unfortunately my heat control sucked so half of them were burnt. BUT still edible okay! I happily lay the pancakes nicely on the plate and forgot that I should have stacked them instead to keep them warm. My bad.
Then I brought out the Canadian maple syrup and butter to serve with the pancakes! Boy I have been craving to eat maple syrup for long long time!!
Jie said I performed above her expectations! She said for a person cooking pancakes for the first time I did pretty well even with a few burnt ones!! Yeah!! I told her Mummy wouldn't believe I cooked all these myself. Jie said she would be my witness.
Yeah!! That proves I ain't that useless after all!! When can I cook pancakes for a lovely boy?
Now, dig in!!
(though they are a bit burnt =p)
